Make Proper Notifications Before Moving

Because ALTCS is Arizona’s version of the Medicaid program, only Arizona residents are eligible to receive the benefit.  ALTCS members who move to another state cannot remain on ALTCS.  While residents of any Arizona county are eligible for ALTCS, members who move to a different county than the one which they became eligible in must take precautions to remain eligible. 

ALTCS services do not automatically follow members from county to county.  Before moving to a different county, members must ask their program contractor to request a switch of services to the new county.  Program contractor requests are procedural in nature, but as with other ALTCS rules, it is critical that members adhere to the letter of the law.  Members who neglect to follow this procedural rule could lose their coverage.
