Julie L. Szubinski joined JacksonWhite Elder Law Services as an Elder Care Coordinator in August 2007. She serves as a resource for the West Valley community, providing education to both health care professionals and Arizona’s senior population. She is available to help professionals, families and potential members understand and maneuver through the ALTCS/AHCCCS system and other senior services.

Prior to joining Jackson White, Julie worked for the Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest Chapter as special events coordinator for their annual Memory Walk. Additionally, she has broad background in social services working closely with various assisted living and skilled facilities in the West Valley.

While at two different facilities in the West Valley, Julie was responsible for the development of an area within the facility geared specifically for calming Alzheimer’s residents suffering from sundowners and/or anxiety. A combination of soothing sounds, aromas and dimmed lights creates a safe and tranquil environment and most residents appear significantly calmer almost instantly. Through the experience of working closely with individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia, Julie gained the understanding and deep passion to go the extra mile when helping seniors and their families.
